After turning down the case and handing it over to John, Sherlock starts to be ridiculed by a lawbreaker who puts his victims into explosive vests and sets Sherlock due dates to fix the obviously unassociated cases, which consist of a twenty-year-old cold case including the shoes of a drowned child, the disappearance of an entrepreneur, the death of a TELEVISION character, and the assassination of a guard of an art gallery by the "Golem". As Sherlock resolves the cases, he discovers links in between them. After clearing up the initial case of the civil servant, Sherlock attempts to compel his hidden foe to expose himself.
